QAction 5.39 is now live! Here's what's new in this release.

This update brings meaningful enhancements to external user engagement, workflow automation, and the modern QAction experience, along with continued accessibility investment and platform improvements.

What's New

Secure messaging for external users
External users can send and receive secure messages in the QAction portal. Safeguards make sure external accounts only get the notifications and links meant for them, so internal content stays protected.

A better external portal
The portal now shows recently submitted forms, and confirmation pages include a direct link back to the submission.

More powerful automated emails
Emails sent from a workflow can now use dynamic subject lines (including formatted dates and field values), pull in information from the process or task, choose recipients from a form field — including everyone in that person's reporting chain — and attach documents the workflow generated. Much of what used to require custom scripting is now built in.

Reusable scripts for workflow automation
Workflow designers can build a script once and reuse it across processes — less duplication, easier maintenance.

More of QAction in the modern interface
You can now work on behalf of another user and use Tag fields in the modern interface, bringing it closer to full parity with the classic experience.

Reliability and infrastructure improvements
5.39 includes continued Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance work, MCP server rate limiting and monitoring improvements, a new API proxy mode for added security and deployment flexibility, OnlyOffice 9.4.0, and file-size details captured for documents.

Bug Fixes

Notes: Notes can now be edited after they're saved.

Modern interface: Checklist views and saved searches display correctly, and signing errors now appear as clear, readable messages instead of raw code.

Platform: Fixed an orphaned thread issue during application restart and patched a security vulnerability in OnlyOffice callback URL handling.
